Sports hall with specific facilities for basque pelota etc.
Accomplished in 2010 in the municipality of Portet-sur-Garonne, this covered sport equipment hall consists of a Basque pelota hall which can be shared with a basketball ground. Conditioned by local elements which for the most part have been kept on the site, the building combines successfully a community centre and a 100-metre athletic track. The plan integration on the site meets a double requirement. On the one hand the necessity to identify the public building status as a urban landmark when we gain access to the sport open space, within a coeducational quarter of housing and business, on the other hand a thoughtful and harmonious composition of facades with a volumetric and functional feature. The plan constituted by three distinct functions unfolds its bulk and commonly-used materials to give energy to the whole appearance of the building and create a visual dynamics to spot on the municipal sport equipment.
Le projet constitué de 3 fonctions distinctes joue de sa volumétrie et des matériaux usités pour dynamiser l’allure générale du bâtiment et créer des événements visuels qui singularisent l’équipement sportif au sein de la ville.
