A bridge over the Tarn
As Albi is included in the UNESCO heritage list, the footbridge has been passionately longed by the community in terms of mobility. It is a complementary alternative to the two unique bridges linking up the town banks.
With its specific structure in cantilever metallic coffers on the piles of the rail bridge, it becomes a new tourist attraction as a work of art crossing the Tarn, developing a new vocation for the viaduct as it can combine two different activities such as the railway and soft load transfer.
The peculiarity of this plan also resides in the concept of the related urban area, particularly on the left bank, on the Castelviel side, the old town. The access to the footbridge will link under the first viaduct ark both squares of the Castle and the Calvaire, separated by the rail bridge abutment.
